Where To Buy Marino Orlandi

Concert July 17 - Cave Auditorium Roma

When the concert was held at the Auditorium Cavea always start well in advance, mindful of past concerts and knowing the shape of the place.
Arrival at 19.00 and just straight in the auditorium listening to the unmistakable notes of the guitar Pat proof that alone, I rush inside the auditorium and behind the glass (known as the foyer of the theater) I watch the soundcheck comforted by the air conditioning inside.
Pat has just finished, gray shirt and green shorts sipping a drink in a can (the temperature nearly 35 ° C) and assists to the test by Steve, Anthony and Lyle (one time). David Oakes, a sound engineer, bandana on his forehead and scooter runs to the right and left of the stage to check that the sound from the speakers is well balanced. I can take some pictures, some from before the technician understands and immediately send an employee to ask us to put away the cameras.
finally try all four together, the sound is clean and the atmosphere is relaxed on stage. A few minutes later, as we begin to gather in a decent crowd at the exit to accommodate us with the excuse of having to "clean up" (exact words) the area before the concert!
Go back to the heat of the exterior and we gather on the side where the artists often come out (right side having the pit in front): meeting Angela Fernandez (a huge fan of Pat's long-standing), Andrew Johnson and Michael Zanchi, Friends keyboard of our group on Facebook. Lyle
parade next to me, Steve, Anthony and their Ladies (undoubtedly the most admired of the group), David Oakes with the kiss that greets Angela.
Pat continues his exercises for a few minutes and then quickly goes out of hand, not even time to say hello or a picture from a distance.
We go to 20.45, give us fans of paper, but are really little, does not draw a breath of air. The place is good, stands fifth row from the stage slightly to the right side of Antonio Sanchez. People come in dribs and drabs, a look of the stage makes me notice a ventilator on the back of the drummer, a smaller one in front of Rodby, a smoke machine on the back of the stage, the inevitable Apple notebook side of Lyle Mays.
David announces the group at 21.15 and it starts with Phase Dance: the attack by chills, goose bumps is a must. Too bad the guitar seems to distort and Pat commit some mistakes too. The tracks run faster, without interruption, Pat has only once comrades on stage and communicates with the public as usual. Rodby takes some solo well made, Sanchez has a precise drumming, powerful and never dull, the plan seems Lyle covered by other instruments and do not fully appreciate his solos. Have You Heard, Jaco, James, a fine version of This Is Not America ... .. Then comes
also AYGWM (Are you going with me), the attack causes the second goose bumps, the track is spectacular as always but I could swear to have heard better versions in past concerts. Other tracks, then comes the Pikasso guitar for the usual but always fascinating just Pat. When We Were Free
closes the concert, but after a few moments, the band reappears for an encore: the crowd gets up and with others we approach the stage for a closer look Minuano and Song for Bilbao. Hard-won a decent place to take the final seven minutes of the concert (see video of the previous post): 1 hour and 55 minutes after the show closes, there is a third, turn the lights off and people evacuated. Someone asks a pick of the teacher ... but nothing to do with his head down the technicians begin to dismantle the instruments.
you return home, but is happy with a strange feeling ... as if this tour has been imposed by the record and not a precise determination of the guitarist, who perhaps would have preferred to continue with his Orchestrion Tour
I do not think the Pat sixteenth concert is filed: think I'm 25 years that follow it live, I turn on the machine (the display but is still 29 ° C) and The Road to You put in the background ...
the next time Pat, always grateful for what you gave us and what we still donate ... ...
